Setting effective price targets

Target prices should be based on analysis rather than wishful thinking. Common approaches include support and resistance levels from price charts, percentage-based targets (e.g. DCA entry at -20% from current price), and fundamental valuation metrics.

How live price tracking works

Prices are fetched from the CoinGecko API and refresh automatically every 30 seconds. The watchlist shows the current price alongside your target, the percentage difference between them, and a 24-hour price change indicator.

Using watchlists for research

Before investing in any crypto asset, watch it for days or weeks to understand its price behavior. Does it follow Bitcoin closely or move independently? How much does it move on news? Observation before participation is a low-risk way to learn an asset's characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive notifications when my target price is hit?

Currently the tool shows visual indicators when prices approach targets. Browser notification alerts are a planned future feature.

How many coins can I add to my watchlist?

There is no hard limit. However for practical monitoring, keeping 10-20 coins makes it easier to track everything meaningful.

Is my watchlist backed up anywhere?

Your watchlist is saved in browser localStorage. It persists across sessions but will be lost if you clear browser data — export it first.
