Effective todo list habits
The most effective todo lists have no more than 3-5 high-priority items per day. Everything on the list should be an action (start with verbs: write, call, review, fix) rather than a vague goal. Break large tasks into specific next actions.
Priority levels explained
High priority: must do today or faces real consequences. Medium priority: important but flexible — do within the week. Low priority: nice to do, no real deadline. Keep high priority items genuinely limited — if everything is high priority, nothing is.
Using due dates effectively
Only add a due date when there is an actual deadline or committed date. False urgency from arbitrary due dates causes anxiety without improving productivity. Reserve due dates for genuine commitments: client deliverables, appointments, submission deadlines.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I access my tasks from multiple devices?
Tasks are stored in your browser's localStorage, which is device-specific. Export your tasks as a text file if you need to transfer them.
Is there a limit to how many tasks I can add?
No practical limit. However, shorter lists are more effective — aim to review and archive completed tasks regularly.
Can I organize tasks into projects?
Use tags or prefixes in task names (e.g. [Project X] Task name) to group related items. Filter by text search to see all tasks for a project.
