What is an AcroForm PDF?
AcroForm is the standard interactive form format in PDF. PDFs with AcroForm fields contain interactive elements that can be filled using PDF readers. When you open a form in Adobe Reader and can click to type in fields, that is AcroForm. This tool detects and presents all AcroForm fields automatically.
Flat vs interactive completed forms
After filling, this tool flattens the form — converting interactive fields into static content. A flattened PDF cannot be edited further, making it suitable for final submission, archiving, and printing.
Forms that do not work with this tool
Scanned forms (images with no AcroForm fields) cannot be filled electronically. Forms with JavaScript-based validation or calculation may not work as expected. Non-AcroForm interactive PDFs (XFA format) are not supported.
Frequently Asked Questions
The form fields are not being detected — what is wrong?
The PDF may not have AcroForm fields — it could be a scanned image or a form created by drawing fields visually rather than using PDF form tools.
Can I save a partially filled form to complete later?
Yes. The filled data stays in your browser session. Download when you are ready to submit.
Will the form look the same after downloading?
The layout and all field contents are preserved. The flattening converts interactive fields to static visual elements — the appearance should be identical to how it looked when filled.
